People quite righlyt associate Beatrix Potter with the Lake District, but her links with Birnam and Dunkeld in Highland Perthshire are equally as strong, where you'll find the Beatrix Potter Exhibition Birnam and Dunkeld.
Beatrix developed her interest in wildlife, drawing and painting during her childhood summers spent at
Dalguise House (below today) near Dunkeld and Birnam.
Beatrix Potters most famous book "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" was written in Dunkled (published in 1902) and 22 more books followed.

inspired by a Dalguise washerwoman!
