Blair Castle - Blair Atholl nr Pitlochry

Without question, one of the Pitlochry area's most popular attractions is the Blair Castle and Gardens in nearby Blair Atholl.

With a history that spans over 740 years, the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl, Blair Castle enjoys one of Scotland’s finest settings right here in the heart of Highland Perthshire.

At the gateway to the Grampian Mountains and now within the magical Cairngorm National Park on the route north from Pitlochry, the location was highly strategic.

Today we can enjoy the wild beauty of the surrounding landscape, however centuries ago it was a very threating and dangerous place.

One of the first private homes to open to the public in Scotland, Blair Castle welcomes more visitors than any other in Scotland
